The challenge

LAAMBA runs an amateur sports league with several divisions and many clubs. Its need was not about communication.

A league is not run with an institutional website: building a tournament fixture with real constraints is a rules problem, and doing it by hand in spreadsheets becomes unmanageable the moment there are several divisions.

  • Club level conditions: a team not playing at home on the first date, or two clubs not meeting early on.
  • Odd numbers: someone sits out each round, and that round cannot count in the standings.
  • Several divisions at once: each with its own table, and some feeding a general one.

Add player registration, the disciplinary tribunal and buying supplies, and administrative work grows faster than the league.

The solution

We built the platform covering the league's full cycle, with the fixture resolved through configurable rules instead of by hand.

And we added the channel clubs use to buy and reserve what they need to play.

Tournaments, fixture and competition

  • A section per tournament with registration of participating divisions.
  • Fixture with configurable rules: home and away, knockout format and definition of the stage elimination begins.
  • Club level constraints, such as preventing a team from playing at home on a given date or two clubs from meeting on a specific one.
  • Resolution of the bye when the number of teams is odd, without that team scoring in the standings.

Results, standings and downloads

  • Result entry and generation of division and general standings.
  • Definition of which divisions feed the general table and which keep their own.
  • Full or per date fixture and downloadable listings for clubs.

Institutional management and sales

  • Player registration with credential collection, club enrollment, disciplinary tribunal, statistics and news.
  • League institutional sections, including its referee school.
  • Store for balls and referee kit with stock loading and ball reservation by clubs.

Architecture and technology

  • Content manager with integrated ecommerce, on a fully mobile adaptable transactional site.

The result

The league runs its competition on rules rather than spreadsheets, and sells in the same place it organizes.

Starting point

  • Fixture built by hand, unmanageable across several divisions.
  • Registration, discipline and statistics with no system behind them.
  • No channel for clubs to buy supplies or reserve balls.

Strategic impact

  • Club constraints are declared once and the fixture respects them on its own.
  • The bye is resolved without dirtying the standings.
  • Institutional management and competition live on the same platform.
  • The sales channel turns an operational need of the clubs into league revenue.
