The challenge

Marca 5 is the group's insurance operation. Its site had to serve three audiences arriving with different needs and different degrees of relationship with the company.

Third parties buying on their own, hauliers tied to the logistics operation and employees of the group's industrial companies cannot share the same front door without one of them getting too much or too little.

  • One site, three relationships: requiring identification from everyone drives the third party away; requiring it from nobody exposes what is sensitive.
  • Quoting for real: a form that fires an email is not a quote, it is an enquiry by another name.
  • Contact that gets lost: a single inbox forces internal forwarding of every message to the right area.

The cost of not solving it is an institutional site that informs and does not operate, while the load stays on the phone.

The solution

It was resolved with an access layer architecture: institutional content open without identification, and sensitive functionality behind user validation.

The differentiator is the quoting engine, which calculates online instead of routing the enquiry.

Access layers

  • Open institutional layer: company presentation, partner insurers identified by the product they market, the team and contact.
  • Quoting functionality with prior user validation for the lines that require it.

Online quoting, per product

  • Calculation against the line tables, tied to each catalog product.
  • In motor, integration with the insurer interface and with the market vehicle model and sum insured database, resolving the quote without manual intervention.
  • Each product opened with its coverage and benefit detail.

Contact routed by area

  • Contact organized by operational area: underwriting, claims, legal and collections.
  • Back end administration and automatic routing of the message to the right mailbox.
  • Separate suggestion and enquiry forms on the same mechanism, plus per product enquiries.

Architecture and technology

  • Corporate site on .NET, with a back end for contact and content administration.
  • Integration with the insurer interface and with the market model and sum insured database.

The result

The site stopped being institutional and started operating: it quotes, routes and publishes without manual intervention.

Starting point

  • Three audiences with different needs entering through the same door.
  • Quoting resolved as an enquiry rather than a calculation.
  • Contact in a single inbox, with internal forwarding to the right area.

Strategic impact

  • Institutional content stays frictionless and sensitive functionality sits behind validation.
  • In motor the quote resolves against the insurer and the model database, with no hands in between.
  • Area routing removes the internal forwarding of every message.
  • Market notes publish from the back end, without depending on development.
